1. God loves you. God loves you dearly and cares for you more than anyone else does. He does not love you because you deserve it, but because of His nature; God is love. (1 John 4:7). God demonstrated His love for you through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Romans 5:8). Jesus died as a just and perfect sacrifice for your sin, suffering the fair punishment you rightly deserved. He suffered and died in your place so that you will not suffer and die for your sins anymore. The sacrifice of Jesus for you is complete. Therefore, you can be saved and free from sin, condemnation, shame and all the oppression of the devil. He died to give you forgiveness, a life of true peace, joy, fulfillment and satisfaction. Dear reader, this is God’s love.
2. You need to receive the love of God. The love of God for you is unchanging. But as great as this is, God’s love for you will not do you much good if you don’t accept it. Dear reader, this is your part - to receive the love of God. You may be asking right now, “How can I receive the love of God?” You receive the love of God by believing in Jesus Christ from the depth of your heart and asking Him to be your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:8-10). You believe God loves you and demonstrated His love for you by sending Jesus to die for you. You believe Jesus took the punishment for your sins and died in your place so that you can receive forgiveness of sins. You believe Jesus rose from the dead to give you a new life of peace, joy, fulfillment and satisfaction. Only believe! It is that simple but profound (John 3:16). God, in His infinite love and mercy, has made it so! My friend, do you believe Jesus?
3. Decide now. If you believe, make this prayer from your heart:“Dear God, I believe you love me and demonstrated Your love for me by giving Jesus to die for me. I believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose again to give me a new life. A life free from sin, condemnation, shame and all the oppression of the devil. Right now, I receive Jesus into my heart as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you Jesus, for forgiving me and saving me, Amen”.
If you said this prayer from your heart, God heard you and has given you a new life. That life is eternal. It is good you now start to live this new life. As with every life, you learn to grow in it and enjoy it to the fullest. We will therefore invite you to join us as we learn about this life.
